About The Role
North Yorkshire Council has a national reputation for excellence in Children’s Services. Opportunities are available within the Fostering team.
Responsibilities
* Supervise and support approved foster carers across the county.
* Provide guidance to newly approved foster carers and those caring for complex children and young people.
* Ensure compliance with statutory responsibilities during on‑going approval.
* Engage with a wide range of services to support fostering families.
* Participate in the out‑of‑hours rota: 6‑10pm weekdays and 2‑6pm weekends, 2 slots per month (full time).
* Conduct home visits and group work outside normal office hours.
Qualifications and Experience
* Qualified Social Worker with experience in fostering.
* Understanding of childhood adverse trauma and its impact.
* Commitment to developing excellent outcomes for children.
* Familiarity with the whole fostering process and statutory responsibilities.
* Ability to work flexible hours and be part of the out‑of‑hours phone line.
