Are you an experienced Geotechnical Engineer looking to advance your career in a dynamic consultancy environment? SLR’s European Geotechnical Team has an opportunity for an experienced professional to help lead and develop our talented team across multiple offices.
The Role:
As a Lead Geotechnical Engineer, you will:
* Guide and manage geotechnical staff in offices located in Bristol, Maidstone, Exeter, and Sheffield.
* Mentor and support graduate and project-grade engineers, providing technical and career guidance.
* Lead geotechnical projects across sectors such as Mining and Minerals, Infrastructure, and Built Environment.
* Contribute to team growth and share your expertise across SLR’s 30 different disciplines.
* Embrace a dynamic working environment with remote leadership and occasional travel to meet team members and clients.
* Opportunities for growth and development of your own expertise and practice.
Key Responsibilities:
* Allocate and manage junior team workloads.
* Act as Project Manager for geotechnical projects.
* Scope, cost, and write proposals.
* Manage client relationships.
* Undertake geotechnical analysis including limit equilibrium, stress deformation and foundation design
* Prepare interpretative reports and input into the design of engineering solutions.
* Collaborate with other technical disciplines.

About You:
We'd envisage that you would:
* Hold a degree in Geology, Geological Hazards, Civil or Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field; an MSc is advantageous.
* Demonstrate extensive experience in site investigation, soil mechanics, and geotechnical engineering.
* Be familiar with geotechnical software packages like OpenGround, GeoStudio, and Rocscience.
* Be a Chartered or near Chartered Member of a relevant professional institution.
* Have a proven track record in building and maintaining client relationships.
* Possess a full driving licence valid in the UK.
