Offer description

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Data Protection Manager to join our Manchester office. This is a key role responsible for overseeing and enhancing our data protection framework, ensuring compliance with UK GDPR and wider regulatory requirements, and promoting a strong culture of data privacy across the firm.

You will act as a subject matter expert, working closely with senior stakeholders, legal teams, IT, and risk functions to manage data protection risks and support business operations.


Key Responsibilities

* Lead on data protection compliance across the firm, ensuring adherence to UK GDPR and related legislation
* Act as the main point of contact for data protection queries and incidents
* Oversee and manage data breaches, including investigation, reporting, and mitigation
* Maintain and develop policies, procedures, and data protection frameworks
* Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and risk assessments
* Deliver training and guidance to staff to improve awareness and compliance
* Liaise with regulators where required, including the ICO
* Monitor regulatory developments and advise the business on changes


About You

* Proven experience in a data protection or privacy-focused role
* Strong working knowledge of UK GDPR and data protection laws
* Experience managing data breaches and regulatory reporting
* Confident communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
* Highly organised with strong attention to detail
