Smart Education is recruiting for an experienced Teaching Assistant to support pupils with complex additional needs within a specialist educational setting in the Northfield area. This is a full-time, term-time position starting February 2026.
This role is suited to a Teaching Assistant who is confident working with pupils who may present challenging behaviour, require emotional and behavioural support, and benefit from clear structure, consistency, and nurturing relationships.

Essential Requirements:
• Proven experience supporting pupils with complex needs in a school setting
• Experience managing challenging behaviour
• Calm, resilient and patient approach
• Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Child & Adult Workforce DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
Role Responsibilities:
• Provide in-class and targeted support to pupils with complex needs
• Support behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement in learning
• Assist with learning activities, routines and transitions
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour
• Work closely with teachers and support staff
• Maintain a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment
