HMP Whitemoor operates as a self-contained entity, requiring hundreds of staff to keep it functioning. Our Facilities Maintenance Team is committed to ensuring smooth and safe operations, impacting prisoners, staff, visitors, and the wider community.
As a Mechanical Supervisor, you will work alongside experienced colleagues including Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners, and Administrators, all dedicated to making a positive difference and providing a secure environment for all.

We are a Ministry of Justice business providing critical services to HMPPS, seeking a Mechanical Supervisor with the following qualifications and experience:
1. Five years’ experience as a plumber or equivalent
2. Familiarity with Water Supply Regulation and Legionella L8 requirements
3. Experience with commercial or industrial heating, water, or building services systems
4. Experience supervising staff
5. Plumber qualified to C&G 6035, C&G 6189, and NVQ level 3 in Plumbing or equivalent
6. Up-to-date First Aid at Work qualification (desirable)
7. Relevant professional qualifications (facilities management/project management) (desirable)
8. Good Health & Safety knowledge
9. Excellent organisational, time management, and people skills
