How You'll Make a Difference
As a Casual EDT Admin Assistant, you will be working with the out of hours Emergency Duty team (EDT), providing administrative support to a small group of social care practitioners covering South Gloucestershire, Bath, Northeast Somerset, Bristol and North Somerset.
What You Will Be Doing
* Maintain clients’ records, complete statistical records and data returns on spreadsheets, and maintain the EDT staff rota and records for the EDT pool cars.
* Accurately record and assist in the monitoring and maintenance of budgets and financial information.
* Act as a call handler when required, taking calls from members of the public, the police and other agencies, collating information to pass on to an EDT Officer.
* Liaise with local providers, identify available resources (by contacting foster carers, care homes, B&Bs and kennels if families have pets), check for availability and pass back to a Social Worker to arrange accommodation.
What We Need From You
* Hold an NVQ 2 or 3, GCSEs (grades C/4 or above) or an equivalent qualification, or have relevant experience in office administration.
* Effective communication skills with customers, professionals and partnership agencies using email, phone and face‑to‑face.
* Excellent IT skills and experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and maintaining computerised record systems.
* Experience dealing with challenging calls from members of the public and families seeking out of hours support.
What You Need To Know
* Role is a casual position on Fridays and Saturdays.
* Friday shift: 16:45 - 00:15
* Saturday shift: 08:45 - 17:15
* All hours worked will be based at the Badminton Road office.
