Quality and Safety Lead Midwife, Perinatal Services
This is a full-time, Band 8a position. The post is a key member of the Collaborative Senior Midwifery team, supporting the Collaborative quad with shared responsibility for delivery of quality services, performance management, clinical governance, safety and risk management within Perinatal Services, and clinical effectiveness for Maternity services.
Responsibilities
* The delivery of quality services (safety, effectiveness and patient experience)
* Performance management of the services in line with targets and standards
* Clinical engagement, responsibility for clinical governance, safety and risk management
* Oversight of clinical effectiveness including guidelines, SOPs, audits (national and local)
* Provide leadership, support and advice to midwifery managers and staff
* Contribute to Collaborative strategy development and implementation
* Ensure good working relationships with other Networks/Service lines across the Collaborative
The post holder will be a highly visible, proactive and accessible Midwife lead, acting as a role model and clinical resource within the Collaborative and ensuring sustained delivery of high standards of Midwifery care and service delivery to staff, patients and the public.

Qualifications and Requirements
Qualifications
* Registered Midwife with the NMC
* Education to Master's level or equivalent
* Leadership and management training in an NHS setting
* Human Factors/SEIPS qualification or course attendance
Desirable
* Service improvement training or willingness to attend
* PSIRF Investigation qualification
Knowledge and Experience
* Clinical leadership experience within the NHS
* Experience delivering significant change in a clinical environment
* Knowledge of NHS policy, guidance, research and legislation including safeguarding
* Knowledge of safeguarding for children/adults
Skills and Aptitudes
* Excellent communication and presentation skills with diverse stakeholders
* Strong written/report writing skills
* Ability to interpret data to support service improvement
* Resilience, capability to challenge and be challenged
* Experience with PSIRF methodology

Additional Information
Details: Band 8a, Permanent, Full-time. Salary: £55,690 to £62,682 per annum pro rata. Location: Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle, CA2 7HY. This post may include relocation assistance where applicable.
