About Our Client
A long‑established Mechanical & Electrical contracting business is seeking an experienced Commercial Administration Manager to take ownership of a small but busy commercial support function. This is a newly signed‑off, business‑critical hire with interviews taking place quickly.
Job Description
You will be responsible for overseeing two Commercial Administrators while remaining heavily involved in day‑to‑day commercial operations.Key responsibilities include:
3. Managing and supporting the Commercial Administration team
4. Processing subcontractor orders, applications, certifications, and invoices
5. Managing subcontractor screening, insurance checks, and IR35 compliance
6. Handling subcontractor queries via phone and email
7. Administering project creation, revisions, and spend limits
8. Managing client orders and associated documentation
9. Preparing reports for monthly finance and director-level meetings
10. Supporting wider business operations with additional administrative duties
11. Ensuring compliance with company Health & Safety and QA procedures
12. Full training on internal systems will be provided.
The Successful Applicant
We're looking for someone who brings:
13. At least 3 years' experience in a commercial administration role, ideally within construction or a related contracting environment
14. Previous supervisory or team‑lead experience
15. Strong organisational skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure
16. Confident communication and multitasking abilities
17. Solid IT skills and a good standard of literacy and numeracy
