Due to continued growth, Leonardo has an exciting opportunity for a Site Security Controller. As a Site Security Controller, you will join an established Integrated Project Team (IPT), reporting to the Project Lead on Site. You will act as the point of contact for all security related activities at a Secure Facility in Southampton, Edinburgh or Luton. You will provide all security advice, guidance and support, providing a professional, polite and considered response in compliance with both company policies and National Security requirements.
This position requires full time working on site.
What you’ll do as a Site Security Controller:
Site Security Controllers are responsible for providing all security advice, guidance and support to ensuring the project operates all its activities on site in compliance with company policies and National Security requirements.
Daily Duties of a Site Security Controller Include:
Security Control & Administration
1. Manage access into the secure facility for all regular and visiting staff and internal and external visitors, including:
2. Completing checks on Security Clearance.
3. Ensuring adherence to Security Policies and necessary escorting.
4. Management of passes for secure facility.
5. Management of lock combinations for secure facility doors & secure cabinets.
6. Control of Classified Assets & Artefacts.
7. Management of Registers of Classified Assets & Artefacts.
8. Muster & Audit of Classified Assets & Artefacts.
9. Destruction of Classified Assets & Artefacts.
10. Cryptographic Management.
11. In liaison with Site Security Manager, manage Cryptographic equipment and material for secure facility.
12. IMPEX control.
13. Managing records of Import to and Export from secure systems.
14. Goods in / Goods Out.
15. Managing records of goods entering and leaving the secure facilities.
16. Liaison with Site Goods In and Security teams to ensure adherence to Security Policies.
17. Liaison with wider Site Security & UK Security teams.
18. Facilitate inspections and audits of secure facility by external inspection teams (E.g. MoD, NACE).
19. Brief new joiners and departmental staff on all aspects of facility security as and when required.
20. Provide first point of contact for all business security related enquiries and be able to deal with the information efficiently and sensitively.
21. Cultivate and deliver sound business security knowledge in response to project, IT or personal needs.
22. Coordinate and control the Secure Facility Security Risk Registers.
23. Act as the Security Business Continuity Coordinator.
24. Develop and maintain good working relationships with key personnel, both internally and externally.
25. Deal with general site enquiries and complaints, in a professional, approachable and constructive way, providing exceptional customer service.
Customer Service
26. Provide an effective and professional service to both internal and external customers, being the principle POC for all security enquires.
27. Liaising with other companies and agencies to facilitate contractual compliance with HMG SPF for Classified Material, supporting the Site Security Manager.
28. Report to the Site Security Manager any issues or concerns that may have an impact on the company’s security and compliance with National Security Regulations.
Process Administration
29. Maintain an effective service and an up-to-date electronic filing system for all security related records.
30. Coordinate the archiving and deleting of security held information in accordance with Company, HMG SPF and the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
31. Identify where improvements to existing processes could be made and implement changes through managed change control.
Team Working / Organizational Expertise
32. Be a proactive representative who can adapt their working pattern to meet the everyday changes in workload.
33. Provide instruction and training to both permanent and temporary staff on the company and government security requirements as necessary.
34. Contribute to the building of a team spirit atmosphere.
Resource Control
35. To utilise equipment and consumables in an acceptable manner saving on resources where possible.
What you’ll bring
You must be:
36. Experienced working a similar role in a High Security environment (E.g. Military, Security Services, Prison Service, HMG, Police, Financial Services, Secure Engineering).
37. Must hold, or be able to achieve, UKSV DV Security Clearance with no restrictions.
38. Desirable – Working knowledge of relevant HMG Security Requirements (E.g. JSP440).
39. Maintaining confidentiality, integrity and availability at all times.
40. Diligent and timely process execution.
41. Professional, polite and personable.
42. Able to work independently and to time scales.
43. Able to collaborate with business functions and staff as required.
44. Excellent interpersonal skills and standard of personal presentation.

48. Proficient level of IT skills (MS Office packages).
49. Excellent telephone manner and ability to deal effectively with outside agencies.

Security Clearance
This role is subject to pre-employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). An additional range of Personnel Security Controls referred to as National Security Vetting (NSV) may apply, this could include meeting the eligibility requirements for The Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).
