About the Role:
We are seeking passionate and dedicated EYFS Tutors to provide personalised, face-to-face learning support for young children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). This role involves working with children who may have a range of additional needs and early developmental delays, offering targeted, child-led interventions to build the foundations of lifelong learning.
As an EYFS Tutor, you will play a vital role in a child’s early education journey by creating a safe, engaging, and supportive environment. This is a highly rewarding opportunity to positively influence children’s cognitive, social, and emotional development at a crucial stage of their lives.
Our ideal candidates will have experience working in early years settings and a sound understanding of the EYFS framework, as well as a nurturing, adaptable, and patient approach.
The children you may support may include those with:
1. SEN/SEMH needs
2. Speech, language, and communication delays
3. Low confidence or poor early learning engagement
4. Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)
5. Looked-After Children (LAC) or those in vulnerable circumstances
Key Responsibilities:
6. Deliver engaging one-on-one or small group EYFS sessions in person
7. Build warm, trusting relationships with young children and their families
8. Provide early learning support across key EYFS areas (e.g., communication and language, personal/social development, phonics, early numeracy)
9. Create a nurturing, inclusive learning environment tailored to each child’s stage and interests
10. Track developmental progress and provide simple feedback to families and/or professionals
11. Adapt teaching and play-based activities to meet each child’s individual needs
Qualifications:
12. Recognised Early Years or Teaching qualification (e.g., QTS, EYTS, Level 3 Early Years Educator)
13. Sound knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and child development
14. Prior experience working with children aged 3–5 in educational or childcare settings
15. SEN/SEMH experience is highly desirable
16. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
17. Creative, patient, and child-led approach
Requirements:
18. Relevant qualification in education or early years
19. Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
20. Ability to travel locally within Leeds
21. Flexibility to deliver sessions between Monday and Friday
22. Experience working with young children with additional needs
