Production Manager - Dagenham Role Overview On behalf of our client, an Automotive manufacturer, we are recruiting a Production Manager to join their team in Dagenham. This role oversees all shift-based production operations, ensuring delivery of the production plan to quality, safety, and efficiency standards. The successful candidate will lead a team of 50 staff, manage daily outputs, and drive continuous improvement using ERP systems and lean methodologies. Key Activities - Managing all production operations on shift, ensuring targets are met safely and efficiently. - Leading, developing, and supporting a team of 50 operatives and technicians. - Ensuring compliance with H&S regulations, COSHH, and 5S housekeeping standards. - Driving continuous improvement initiatives (e.g. Kaizen, root cause analysis). - Monitoring production KPIs and escalating issues via SQDCP processes. - Collaborating with planning, logistics, and quality teams to remove bottlenecks. - Ensuring accurate ERP (Epicor) updates and People System inputs for payroll and reporting. - Supporting new product introductions and engineering change requests. - Deputising for the Operations Director as required. Skills & Experience - Strong leadership experience in automotive or assembly environments. - Proficient in ERP systems (Epicor) and production reporting. - Knowledge of lean manufacturing, takt time, and value stream mapping. - Excellent communication and team engagement skills. - HSE-focused, with experience in risk assessment and compliance. Desirable Qualifications: - ILM Level 5 or equivalent. - IOSH or NEBOSH qualified. - Continuous Improvement certification (e.g. Green/Black Belt) - Degree in engineering or Level 7 leadership qualification.
