Job Overview: As a Chef at Mulligans, you will be responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality dishes that complement our exciting, competitive social setting. You will work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, ensuring our guests enjoy a premium culinary experience while maintaining the highest levels of cleanliness, organization, and efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Quality Control: Monitor the quality of food preparation and presentation to ensure every dish meets the restaurant's high standards. Ensure consistency in taste and presentation in all meals. Kitchen Management: Assist with managing kitchen staff, ensuring smooth and efficient kitchen operations. Train and mentor junior team members. Inventory & Stock Control: Help manage inventory levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing food waste. Ensure that the kitchen is well-stocked with necessary ingredients while maintaining cost-efficiency. Health & Safety: Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment. Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices. Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with the front-of-house team to ensure a seamless dining experience for guests. Communicate effectively with other team members to ensure efficient operations, particularly during peak times. Customer Experience: Ensure a memorable experience for guests by consistently delivering high-quality dishes and maintaining a positive kitchen culture. Respond to customer feedback and adapt as needed to enhance their dining experience. Qualifications: Proven experience as a Chef or Cook in a fast-paced kitchen, preferably within a competitive social and hospitality setting. Strong culinary skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques. Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple tasks. Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team. Familiarity with food safety standards and kitchen hygiene practices. A passion for food and creating unique dining experiences. Ability to adapt and innovate in response to customer needs and trends. Excellent communication skills and attention to detail. Desirable: Culinary qualifications (e.g., Culinary Arts Degree or equivalent). Experience in managing kitchen staff and inventory. Knowledge of current food trends and customer preferences. Experience in a competitive social setting (e.g., event-based dining or themed restaurant).
