In this role, you will be a key support to our deck teams onboard while developing your skills and knowledge on our vessels. This role has no set location; you will have the opportunity to work on all of our Irish Sea vessels.
Key Responsibilities
* Responsibility for the safe and efficient running of the vessel, mainly during night hours.
* Deputise for the Master (days) as required by the rosters.
* Report to the Fleet Superintendent and the Senior Master.
* Use and develop problem-solving skills in diverse scenarios.
* Manage designated areas of responsibility.
* Act in accordance with emergency procedures.
* Carry out maintenance as directed.
* Familiarize with ship's operating and navigational procedures.
* Manage risks to ship, personnel, and environment; establish safeguards.
* Report incidents, hazards, and deficiencies to management.
* Be familiar with SMS procedures.
* Support duties above your rank to ensure confidence and hands-on ability.
Experience & Qualifications
* STCW II/2 Master Unlimited CoC.
* Previous ship handling experience is essential; command experience is desirable.
* Work across the Irish Sea Fleet.
