Vacancies have arisen at Unimetals Recycling (UK) Ltd for two Regional Electrical Maintenance Engineers. One of these positions will predominantly cover Nottingham, Hull, Barnsley and other northern sites, whilst the other will cover Avonmouth, Long Marston, Newport, Smethwick and other sites.
Reporting to the UK Electrical Engineering Manager, the Regional Electrical Maintenance Engineer will be an Authorised Person, responsible for maintaining plant and site facilities to maximise process utilisation, contribute to technical improvements and process developments, ensuring that plant and infrastructure are maintained safely and to the highest possible level whilst complying with legislation and company standards.
Person Specification
* Time-served Electrician with a BS7671 Regulation Certificate.
* Experience and a background in Medium/Heavy industry.
* Experience of PLC systems, Variable Speed Drives, HMIs and SCADA systems. Skilled in maintenance, repair and installation of all types of electrical systems.
* Knowledge and experience of condition monitoring tools & techniques is essential.
* Ideally be a High Voltage Authorised Person (AP), or willing to train to this level.
* Issuing safety documents, permits.
* Ability to construct simple control panels, interpret electrical drawings and OEM instruction manuals, have knowledge of control instrumentation and demonstrate a logical approach to fault finding.
* Must be willing and able to undertake/assist in mechanical works and have recent experience of working in a similar challenging role.
* The successful candidate will have good interpersonal skills, be able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, be self-motivated and reliable.
* Experience of working on control equipment for water pumps, pipework, hydraulic systems, pneumatics, conveyors, industrial sensors and complex production plant process systems.
* Experience of working with, organising and supervising contractors.
* Ability to work on own initiative, manage own time and work with minimum supervision.
* Able to use data and knowledge to make complex decisions to facilitate solutions to plant breakdown events.
* Must be able to adopt a flexible approach to work, such as shift work and overtime. Call outs/on call may be necessary to support the department’s objectives.
* Must be motivated and enthusiastic, with an ability to perform multiple tasks safely & efficiently.
* IT Literate (MS Office, CMMS experience).
* Current clean UK driving licence, FLT, Scissors lift, Cherry picker licences essential.
* Must be able to work at height and in confined spaces
