At Communicate Technology, we’re continuing to grow our Cyber Security capability and we’re looking for a Senior SOC Analyst to join our team at our HQ in Wynyard.
This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced SOC environment and wants to play a key role in handling complex security incidents, shaping detection capability and supporting clients during critical events.
What you’ll be doing:
As a Tier 2 / Senior SOC Analyst, you’ll take ownership of escalated incidents and lead from the front:
* Investigating and responding to complex security incidents
* Performing deep-dive analysis and identifying root causes
* Leading containment, eradication and recovery actions
* Working directly with clients during live incidents
* Tuning detection tools to improve accuracy and reduce noise
* Supporting and mentoring Tier 1 analysts
* Contributing to playbooks, automation and continuous SOC improvement
What we’re looking for:
We’re after someone technically strong, proactive and confident working in high-pressure situations:
* Proven experience in a SOC or security operations environment
* Strong knowledge of cyber threats, attack techniques and defence strategies
* Hands‑on experience with SIEM, EDR/XDR and security tooling
* Solid networking and firewall knowledge
* Fortinet experience is essential for this role
* Ability to investigate, analyse and respond to incidents independently
* Strong communication skills—able to translate technical detail for clients
Certifications such as Fortinet NSE4, SC-200, Security+ or similar are highly desirable.
