Job Title: Production Manager
Salary: £45,000 p.a.
Contract: Permanent
Working Hours: Monday Friday (Days)
Due to continued growth Next Generation are currently recruiting for a Production Manager to work with a well-established engineering company based near Halesowen. As the Production Manager you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of engineered components throughout the Light Forge and Steel stock department.
Duties of the Toolroom Team Leader:
Oversee day to day running of all forging, heat treatment and sawing within the business
unit
Adhere to and encourage health and safety methods and procedures
Drive continuous improvement through Die plant and Steel Stock targeting an improvement in quality, productivity and communication with shop floor and between departments
Champion a training program across both areas to sustain and grow key skills including updating of training logs and matrices
Ensure that housekeeping reaches and is maintained at a high level.
Responsible for the disciplinary process in the Forging, Heat Treatment, Die Plant and Steel stock areas
Responsible for ensuring adequate tooling, consumables and PPE are available when
needed
Expediting jobs within the departments to meet the weekly sales plan.
Ensuring shifts and manning is planned to optimise output and managing overtime when necessary.
Performing root cause analysis where necessary and in an agreed timeframe.
Responsible for NCRs planned actions and closing out NCRs in an agreed timeframe.
Monitoring accuracy of ERP - INFOR system bookings.
Feeding back on incorrect or inefficient routing of jobs.
Responsible for departmental throughput and reporting on any expected delays to daily/weekly/monthly production commitments.
Responsible for communication at all levels within the Departments. i.e. daily/weekly
briefings Team leaders/operators and updating of communication boards.
Investigating excessive inefficiencies and overruns.
Investigating cause and removing or reporting of defective equipment.
The successful candidate for the Toolroom Team Leaders position will have the following experience:
3 5 years experience as Production Manager or Supervisor within a forgings or foundry environment (Essential)
Dealing with NCRs (Essential)
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings (Essential)
Experience working within heavy engineering (Desirable)
