About Nebula Finance
Nebula Finance is building an AI-powered financial management platform for freelancers, startups, and SMBs. We’re focused on using AI to automate financial
operations safely and reliably, reducing admin time and improving decision-making for business owners.
Our vision goes beyond financial management. Additional details will be shared later in the interview process once an NDA is signed.
The role
We’re hiring an AI Engineer focused on agentic systems to help build and ship our AI automation layer. You’ll design and implement AI agents that can handle multi-step tasks, interact with internal tools/services, and operate with strong safety controls and
human-in-the-loop review where needed.
This is an early, high-ownership role working closely with the founding team.
What you’ll do
• Build AI agents that can plan and execute multi-step workflows across product
surfaces
• Design tooling interfaces for agents (function calling, permissions, safe action
boundaries)
• Implement safety and reliability mechanisms (confidence gating, fallbacks, escalation
paths, audit logs)
• Create evaluation and monitoring for agent performance (quality, cost, latency,
failure modes)
• Partner with engineering/product to integrate agent capabilities into real user
workflows
What we’re looking for
• Strong experience shipping AI/ML or LLM-powered systems into production
• Hands-on experience with agentic patterns (tool use, planning/execution loops,
routing, self-checks)
• Strong Python skills and comfort building APIs/services
• Pragmatic approach to reliability, testing, and operational excellence
• Comfortable working in an early-stage environment with ambiguity and high ownership
• Experience with workflow automation systems, orchestration, or event-driven
architectures
• Experience with human-in-the-loop systems and escalation design
• Familiarity with regulated domains (fintech, health, insurance) where correctness and
auditability matter
What we offer
• Meaningful equity in an early-stage company
• High autonomy, direct founder collaboration, and real technical ownership
• A clear path to cash compensation once funding is completed and post go-to-market
Interview process (lean + practical)
1. Intro call (20–30 mins)
2. Technical interview (60 mins)
3. Practical exercise (short, role-relevant)
4. Final founder conversation (equity, scope, timeline)
