Our established and growing client is seeking an experienced full-time Buyer to join their team. This role will support all areas of procurement across the business and report directly to the Project Managers. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and detail-oriented professional with demonstrable experience in a similar role as a Buyer. They will play a key role in the smooth execution of procurement operations, ensuring the timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials and components for both ongoing and new projects.
Key Responsibilities for the Buyer:
1. Assisting in managing existing supplier relationships, facilitating smooth transitions, maintaining communication, and setting clear expectations.
2. Identifying and developing new suppliers to expand supply opportunities, offer alternative products, and maintain competitiveness within the supply chain.
3. Supporting the implementation and negotiation of cost reduction strategies.
4. Recommending and implementing improvements to internal supply and procurement processes.
5. Ensuring all technical procurement meets required standards and deadlines to avoid front-end delays.
6. Tracking orders from initiation to delivery.
7. Managing lead times and monitoring supplier performance.
Candidate Requirements as a Buyer:
1. Proven experience in purchasing within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
2. Strong ability to manage and develop effective supplier relationships.
3. Sound technical knowledge of electronic components.
4. Experience with MRP/ERP systems is advantageous.
5. Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.
6. Proficiency in cost analysis and budget management.
