Were looking for Band 3 Clinical Support Workers to join our inpatient unit at Carlton Court Hospital, located in the peaceful surroundings of Carlton Colville, Lowestoft. Our unit provides care for adults with a variety of complex physical and mental health needs. As a Clinical Support Worker, youll work closely with registered nurses and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, dignified care. This includes supporting with personal care, promoting comfort and wellbeing, and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for patients and their families.
This Band 3 role is ideal for experienced support workers looking to expand their responsibilities. If youre newer to healthcare, you can begin as a Band 2 Healthcare Assistant, with a structured development pathway to help you progress to Band 3 through training and supervised practice.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be part of a team of support workers trained in a range of skills, delivering care and clinical interventions so that they can respond to the patient's needs to support rehabilitation and end of life care.
Clinical Skills will include but are not be limited to:
* Pressure ulcer Prevention and Management
* Wound care
* Bladder Scan
* Venepuncture
* Undertaking and recording observations including NEWS2 and Blood Glucose Testing
* Delivering Physiotherapy support within competencies
* Delivering Occupational Therapy support within competencies
Carlton Court Hospital is a healthcare facility located in Carlton Colville, Lowestoft, Suffolk (NR33 8AG). The wards provide a range of services, including rehabilitation and support for individuals with complex health needs.

Job responsibilities

Work in partnership with senior members of the team and ensure thecare provided is of high quality.
Work with patients towards self-care and independence.

Enable individuals and their families to express their feelingsand preferences and take appropriate action.
Work as part of the multidisciplinary team to deliver supportivecare to patients approaching end of life.
To promote effective communication between patients, families, andcarers to include participation in all decision making related to their care.
Follow an agreed care plan offering a range of clinical activitiesto ensure best practice is delivered.
Undertake personal care activities of daily living with patients.
Support and deliver aspects of activities of daily living. Toinclude management of dietary and fluid intake, toenail care, management ofcontinence, assisting with toileting programmes, including use of sheaths, catheters,and continence pads.
Take,Record and Report (if outside of normal parameters) Blood Pressure,Respiration, Oxygen Saturation and Pulse rate as may be necessary usingNEWS2. (National Early Warning System 2 Observation chart).
Undertake observations of skin assessments, continence, nutrition,and report back to senior colleagues.
Undertake urinalysis, including collecting urine sample asdirected, reporting any concerns regarding urination.
Be able toparticipate in simple wound care, skin tear pathway, venepuncture, orcollection of specimens.
Participate in Health Education/training for patients, families,and carers.
Engage in personal development; maintain competence, knowledge,and skills commensurate with role.
Be accountable for practice taking every reasonable opportunity tosustain and improve knowledge and competence.
Provide information as required to complete outcome measures onadmission and discharge.
Maintain legible, accurate and contemporaneous patient records inaccordance with ECCH Policy.
Report any changes in patients condition to a registered HealthCare Professional.
Take responsibility for the safe use of clinical equipment.
Contribute to the effective use of resources.
