Key Responsibilities
As an ACT, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, safety, and efficiency of our dispensary and services. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Checking Trays
* Conduct final accuracy checks of multi-compartment compliance aids (MDS trays) prepared by dispensers.
* Ensure all items are clinically appropriate, labelled correctly, and packaged in line with SOPs.
* Labelling Prescriptions
* Generate and attach accurate labels to prescriptions, ensuring they match prescriber instructions.
* Maintain compliance with legal and professional standards.
* Dispensing Prescriptions (as required)
* Support the team with dispensing tasks during busy periods.
* Although the pharmacy is well-staffed, flexibility to dispense is required when needed.
* Final Accuracy Checking
* Perform accredited accuracy checks on prescriptions to ensure safe supply of medicines.
* Work in line with GPhC standards and local SOPs.
* Controlled Drug (CD) Balance Checks
* Carry out regular CD balance checks in accordance with legal requirements.
* Assist in maintaining accurate, up-to-date CD registers.
* Clinical Services & Vaccinations (if trained)
* Deliver pharmacy services such as vaccinations and other NHS/private services.
* If not currently trained, full training will be provided to support career development.

Essential Skills & Requirements
* Accredited Checking Technician qualification.
* Current registration with the GPhC.
* High attention to detail and accuracy.
* Strong organisational and communication skills.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a busy pharmacy environment.
* Commitment to patient safety and confidentiality.

Desirable Skills
* Previous experience delivering pharmacy services (e.g. flu vaccinations, health checks).
* Knowledge of PharmOutcomes and EPS systems.
* Willingness to undertake additional training and professional development.
