Accounts Assistant (Maternity Cover)

We're on the lookout for a proactive and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join a fantastic team in Northampton. Key Responsibilities
1. Answer emails and phone calls in a timely manner, ensuring accurate data entry and distribution of information
2. Communicate with customers to an exceptional standard, consistently exceeding expectations through proactive engagement and dedicated support
3. Process vendor invoices and ensure all billing in raised in line with the company's requirements
4. Prepare and communicate monthly figures to customers and buying groups via the sales team
5. Support month-end processes including reconciliations and journal entries (bank, stock, accruals, prepayments)
6. Maintain and update pricing files within SAP and manage credit control processes using iController
7. Handle customer complaints within agreed timeframes, manage insurance claim payments and notify relevant parties of complaints received from retailers
8. Ensure full compliance with HMRC and Customs regulations, including timely reporting
9. Collaborate closely with the Manager to prioritise workload and maintain/update internal procedures, policies, and customer sales documentation
10. Assist the sales team with sample requests, stock monitoring, pallet unloading, and exhibition preparation
11. Manage office supplies (stationery, cleaning products, etc.) to maintain a productive work environment
12. Keep an up-to-date log of company renewables (e.g. car plans, insurance, compliance testing)
13. Perform General Ledger accounting and month-end close activities
14. Track and report on transport costs as required
15. Update and monitor Customer Trading Agreements in line with agreed targets
16. Review and maintain forecast files, highlighting variances as they arise
17. Monitor packaging usage and ensure compliance with relevant legislation
18. Carry out any other ad hoc duties as required

19. Whilst this role has a strong finance focus, - you'll be joining a very small, close-knit team, so flexibility and a team-oriented mindset are essential.

Skills and qualifications
22. Experience using SAP is essential for this position
23. Experience using iController is desirable but not essential
