Overview
Assistant Farm Manager Required - Broilers at Pilgrims Europe. This role supports the smooth and efficient running of the Broiler farm, developing skills in line with the Pilgrims Europe competency framework. The post holder will liaise with the Farm Manager to maintain up-to-date records of birds, food, supplies, and related matters, ensure adequate stock, and carry out correct ordering when necessary. The role includes a commitment to reducing environmental impact through processes and procedures across the business, such as waste reduction and recycling. The successful candidate may manage, motivate and train Farm Assistants where applicable, and will communicate with the Farm Manager regarding crop performance to ensure efficient flock performance. The post holder will maintain professional integrity and appearance of the farm and dwellings, and will deputise for the Farm Manager in their absence (sometimes with a Relief Farm Manager) including taking charge of a radio pager for alarms and emergency call outs. Any other reasonable duties as required by the Farm Manager may be expected, as bird welfare is the utmost priority.
We’re looking for individuals who can work with minimal supervision and enjoy a hands-on role in a farming environment. A keen interest in farming and strong animal welfare values are essential, with a willingness to learn and develop new skills within the organisation.

This role is a 5 from 7 shift pattern, with a sixth day as required by the needs of the business, covering 48 hours a week. Driving Licence is essential as the role will support farms within our Ashbourne Broiler Farm Base. In addition to the benefits package, the successful candidate will have a housing allowance and would be eligible to join a performance related bonus scheme.

* Previous experience in a Poultry Farm environment
* Level 2 / 3 Poultry Passport Qualification
