A fast-growing energy solutions business is seeking a Procurement Manager to join the organisation at a pivotal stage of growth. The business delivers cost-effective, low-carbon infrastructure and asset solutions for clients across a range of energy-intensive industries, including Manufacturing, Pharmaceutical, Automotive and Food Production.
This is a newly created, standalone role and the first dedicated procurement position within the business. The successful candidate will take ownership of day-to-day procurement activity while continuing to develop and mature procurement tools, processes and ways of working as the company scales.
This role would suit an experienced procurement professional comfortable operating independently in a growing, project-driven environment, with strong commercial judgement and the emotional intelligence to embed process without hindering delivery.
Responsibilities:
Run end-to-end procurement activities for construction-related packages, installation works, equipment and specialist services
Lead tendering, evaluation, negotiation and contract award processes
Manage supplier relationships across engineering, construction and technical categories
Oversee contract administration, renewals and compliance
Build on the existing procurement framework, refining tools and processes as the business grows
Evolve supplier onboarding, tender documentation and contract management to support increased project activity
Identify cost reduction opportunities, value engineering options and improved commercial terms
Support the development of supplier risk management and proportionate governance around spend and contracting
Work closely with Projects, Engineering, Asset Management and Finance to align procurement with operational needs
Support colleagues in adopting and embedding procurement processes already in place
Contribute to the organisation’s developing approach to responsible sourcing and ESG expectationsRequirements:
Experience procuring works, services and equipment within construction, engineering or industrial environments
Strong commercial judgement with confident negotiation capability
Ability to operate autonomously as the sole procurement professional
Comfortable working with early-stage processes and strengthening them over time
High emotional intelligence with the ability to pace change appropriately
Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills, particularly with technical and project teams
Organised, proactive approach with the ability to balance short-term delivery and long-term improvement
Experience working with common construction or engineering contract forms
Exposure to ESG, responsible sourcing or supplier due diligence practices
CIPS qualified or currently studying (desirable)
