Factory Labour Assistant : 3-month contract
Job Title: Factory Labourer Assistant x 2 Vacancies (3-month contract)
Reporting to: Plant 1 Manager

Our customers include the top motorsports racing series including Formula One, Le Mans, IndyCar and NASCAR and we also supply transmissions for the most exclusive high-performance cars in the world. We are at the forefront of a once-in-a-generation opportunity as the automotive industry transitions from internal combustion to electric and hybrid and our experienced and dedicated teams are using the latest cutting-edge technology to achieve this transition.
Xtrac also has a new partnership with Zoerkler, a specialist in gear manufacture and precision engineering. This strategic venture marks a significant step forward in our ambitious growth plans and reinforces our commitment to delivering world-class transmission components and systems to our customers.
About the Role
* Ensure the factory floor is kept clean, safe, and well-organised to support efficient operations.
* Carry out minor maintenance and improvement tasks, such as:
* Re-painting benches, touch-ups, and general upkeep.
* Cleaning and basic care of equipment and tools.
* Dismantling, adjusting, and rebuilding racking and shelving systems as required.
* Re-marking and maintaining floor lines and signage to ensure clear and safe working areas.
* Conduct routine housekeeping checks and proactively address any hazards or issues.
* Perform basic maintenance inspections on equipment and facilities, escalating any concerns to the relevant teams or supervisors.
* Support health and safety practices at all times, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.
* Provide general assistance to colleagues and other departments as needed, contributing to the smooth running of the factory.
About You
* A strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive “can-do” attitude.
* Ability to adapt and remain effective in a fast-paced, changing environment.
* Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling tasks, including lifting and moving heavy items safely.
* Good communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
* A proactive approach with attention to detail, taking pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation.
* Previous experience in a factory, warehouse, or maintenance role is beneficial, though not essential – full training will be provided.
