Nursery Assistant (Deputy Room Leader) – Independent School (East Surrey Area) Start Date: Late August 2025 Contract Type: Full-Time, All-Year-Round An outstanding independent school in the East Surrey area is looking for a caring and confident Nursery Assistant (Deputy Room Leader) to support the leadership of their under 2s room within a well-established and nurturing nursery setting. This is a full-time, all-year-round position offering the opportunity to help shape an exceptional early years environment. What We’re Looking For: A Level 3 (or higher) qualification in Early Years Experience working as a Nursery Assistant, ideally supporting or leading in a baby room A strong understanding of EYFS, safeguarding, and child development Confident supporting routines, leading group activities, and engaging with parents A positive team player, able to take initiative and support the Room Leader Comfortable supporting learning observations, key person responsibilities, and children’s wellbeing A warm, professional approach and genuine enthusiasm for working with young children Key Responsibilities: Support the Room Leader in managing daily routines, staff deployment, and classroom set-up Lead small group activities and contribute to planning, observations, and assessments Foster a caring, inclusive environment where each child feels safe, supported, and able to thrive Deputise in the absence of the Room Leader, ensuring smooth running of the under 2s room Uphold excellent standards in care, communication, and compliance as a valued Nursery Assistant Why Apply?
