About the Role
This specialist SEMH school supports pupils who need more than a traditional classroom. Teaching here is demanding—but deeply rewarding. Staff work tirelessly to help students rebuild confidence, rediscover learning, and develop the social and emotional skills they need for adulthood.
The school is on an exciting journey towards becoming a registered therapeutic community, and we are looking for teachers who share this restorative, trauma-informed ethos.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Teacher of English, you will:
* Inspire a love of learning through creative, hands-on lessons
* Deliver English Language, with knowledge of or willingness to learn AQA GCSE and Functional Skills
* Adapt teaching to meet individual needs, helping every student achieve their potential
* Play an active role in pastoral support, building trusted relationships that help students thrive
* Contribute to a curriculum that values life skills and personal development alongside academic progress
What We’re Looking For
You will be:
* A qualified English teacher (QTS) with strong subject knowledge
* Confident, reflective and committed to high-quality teaching
* Resilient, compassionate and emotionally intelligent
* Passionate about supporting students with SEND and SEMH needs (experience advantageous but not essential)
