As a Buyer, you will collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and work with suppliers to develop robust commercial agreements for goods and services.
What you'll do
Day to day, the role will involve:
1. sourcing goods and services ensuring the best possible commercial, quality and delivery outcome is obtained for daily purchasing demands
2. ensuring orders are placed correctly where contracts or framework agreements are established
3. working with key partners focusing on sustainable procurement in sourcing
4. acting as a conduit between suppliers and internal customers to develop strong supplier partnerships
5. monitoring supplier performance for key spend areas and developing reporting opportunities
6. liaising with purchasing colleagues, stakeholders and suppliers to ensure product availability
7. establishing and maintaining supplier agreements
8. implementing new ideas and methods and seeking ways to both improve contribution to the organisation's goals and enhance the reputation of the company.
What you'll need
You will have proven experience working as a Buyer or in a similar role. You will have experience in either or any of the following:
* general construction
* mechanical & electrical
* plant & fleet
* corporate services

You will have strong analytical skills and superb attention to detail and will enjoy interacting with business stakeholders and suppliers to gain the best outcomes.
In addition, you will:
* have an understanding of eSourcing systems (eg, Jaggaer, Coupa, etc)
* have knowledge of procurement policies and procedures
* be working towards becoming a member of CIPS or gaining an equivalent qualification
* have negotiation and influencing skills
* have the ability to clearly communicate business requirements to suppliers and contractors
* be highly organised and articulate
* have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
