The Opportunity
A leading engineering consultancy is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support a high-profile nuclear project, focusing on equipment specifications, safety assessments, and compliance across a range of plant systems.

Your duties and responsibilities will be
Develop and review technical specifications and datasheets for mechanical equipment including pumps, filters, and lifting systems.
Conduct Designer Risk Assessments (DRAs) for lifting, hoisting, and work environment equipment in line with PUWER regulations.
Ensure compliance with Pressure Equipment (Safety) Regulations (PE(S)R) and PED standards for plant assembly components.
Provide engineering input into gloveboxes, sampling cabinets, and other containment systems.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure safe and compliant equipment integration across the project lifecycle.You will have the following qualifications and experience
Proven experience with lifting equipment, cranes, and hoists including technical documentation and risk assessments.
Strong understanding of PUWER and workplace safety regulations in engineering environments.
Familiarity with pressure systems and PED/PE(S)R compliance for plant equipment.
Background in specifying and assessing mechanical components such as pumps, filters, and heat exchangers.
Ability to produce and interpret technical datasheets and specifications for complex mechanical systems.Get in touch now
