About the Role
We are seeking an Associate in our Research and Intelligence team to support our efforts in understanding online platforms. The role is crucial for providing high-quality data and analysis to relevant Ofcom teams, especially those overseeing regulated platforms.
The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills, an understanding of evidence/data use in decision-making, and enthusiasm for data analysis and strategic thinking. Engagement with industry partners, data providers, and internal teams will be key.
Location & Working Arrangements
The role is full-time, based in Manchester, London, or Edinburgh. Flexible working arrangements are supported to accommodate personal needs.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage projects, organize meetings, and support governance processes, including data analysis and visualization.
2. Communicate research findings effectively to internal teams and stakeholders.
3. Draft reports for internal and external audiences.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Ability to generate insights and make data-driven decisions.
* Proficiency in tools like Excel and PowerPoint for managing and presenting data.
* Strong planning and organizational skills.
* Flexibility and adaptability to change.
* Clear communication skills.
* Ability to build positive relationships inside and outside the organization.
* Understanding of online platform sectors and/or the Online Safety Act.
Desirable Skills & Experience
* Experience with data analytics and visualization tools such as SPSS, Python, R, Power BI, Azure Databricks.
* Experience with APIs or web scraping techniques.
