Job Title: Engineering Assistant
Location: Warton – Onsite
Salary: £31,672+ depending on experience
What you’ll be doing:
Interrogating engineering databases in order to compile reference documentation to originate reports, originate materials and ordering complex information for others
Liaising with all engineering teams and other functions in order for engineering to respond to engineering requirements, enquires and estimates, for example
Designing and developing solutions to common or well-articulated engineering situations, problems and issues under close supervision and working as part of a team
Learning how to apply knowledge to a range of engineering problems, administration tasks and issues. At this level is likely to be learning how to solve common engineering problems and how to apply standard engineering approaches and solutions to problems
Shadowing and supporting Senior Engineers as they undertake their day to day tasks
Your skills and experiences:
Strong written and verbal communication skills to support exchange of factual information
Good IT skills with practical experience with computers such as spreadsheets, web-browsers, word processing and power point presentations
Basic familiarity of engineering activities and the design and development lifecycle of a product

The GCAP Work Pack 1 (WP1) Data Management team:
The GCAP Work Pack 1 (WP1) Data Management Team are a critical enabler for BAE Systems and our International Partner Product Teams maturing their system design activities. This is achieved through the provision of a range of services that facilitate secure management and sharing of classified data between Government Defence Ministries and Industrial Partners across UK, Italy and Japan. As the GCAP programme evolves the scope of the team is increasing as toolsets which underpin Data Management activities also change necessitating engagement with UK Government Departments to support seamless migration whilst also maintaining our service provision. The Data Management Team are an integral part of the GCAP Engineering community both within BAE Systems and Internationally where the support and services provided are key enablers to international collaboration.
