Role
As a Bid Manager, you’ll report to a Senior Bid Manager and ultimately to the Head of Bid Management. You’ll take the lead on high-quality bid submissions, ensuring we deliver compelling, customer-focused proposals that win business. You’ll coordinate and lead the production of high-quality, tailored tender submissions with a particular focus on Planned Works, collaborating across operational and technical teams to showcase our expertise in delivering large-scale refurbishment, capital investment, and improvement programmes.
Responsibilities include:
* Leading and owning the creation of winning tender submissions
* Proactive management and leadership of each tender process
* Ensuring the structure of documents reflects all requirements to facilitate scoring
* Producing well written proposals from researched and orchestrated responses which convey operational, technical and commercial solutions
* Design, collation, production and review of the final submission document, including ownership of all elements/sections
* Working as part of the wider bid team to produce high quality, customer-focused documents
* Updating and integration of knowledge management within Document Management and CRM systems
* Managing multiple deadlines while maintaining high quality in written work
Role Criteria
* Proven experience in writing high quality method statements
* Experience liaising with teams (particularly operators) to develop deliverable solutions
* Competency in MS Office software
* Ability to work to tight deadlines
* Flexible attitude to work tasks and workload to meet tender deadlines
* Calm under pressure with ability to handle feedback/evaluation
* Effective communication with colleagues and clients
* Ability to work on own initiative

To drive a Mears vehicle, you must be aged over 21, have held your licence for over 3 months and have less than 9 points.
