Family Support Teams are composed of ASYE, Social Workers, and Senior Practitioners, with a Deputy Team Manager and a Team Manager.
We handle Child in Need, Child Protection, Looked After Children, and Court proceedings.
Caseloads typically involve 10 families and approximately 22 children. Staff manage a mixture of CIN and CP cases, with more experienced staff handling court cases, no more than 3 families at a time, including private proceedings and report writing (Section 7 or 37).
Supervision occurs every 4 weeks, focusing on personal and case review.
Current COVID-19 arrangements include home visits within statutory timescales, with meetings via Microsoft Teams. Staff have access to smartphones and Surface Pro tablets. Office presence is limited to duty or planned work, averaging 3 times per month.
Family Support has access to FAST and SAIT services for direct work, interventions, and assessments, including parenting skills, boundary setting, managing behavior, and specialized assessments like PAMS, Adult Attachment Interview, and Story Stems.
