Location: This role is hybrid, with 2 or 3 days on average to be spent in your base office which could be Edinburgh or Wythall.

We have an incredible opportunity to join us here at Phoenix Group as a Senior Accountant to join the Reporting and Operations (ReOp) change team
The role
This role will be part of the Finance Change Business Partnering and Embedding team for Open and Phoenix Asset Management and will have responsibility for defining the Target Operating Model for ReOp and evolving the design of this as change activity continues to be delivered impacting the financial operations and reporting of the Life Companies. This role requires an experienced accountant who has delivered change or been involved in Target Operating Model design to manage the delivery of the Target Operating Model against a backdrop of change driven by projects originating in finance or supporting delivery of strategic and regulatory projects. The successful candidate will report into the Head of Finance Change Partnering & Embedding for Open & Asset Management and will be crucial in delivering a scalable, efficient target operating model to support the business growth ambitions. With responsibilities such as; Review of OSPs, developing a critical skills framework, creating clear governance frameworks, defining a clear data strategy and articulating the road map to take Reporting and Operations and our stakeholders on the journey as we drive progress towards the Target Operating Model.
What are we looking for?
We’re looking for a qualified Accountant (or qualified by experience) to join our team. You’ll have experience of financial operational change and of designing or delivery of a target operating model. We’re looking for you to be able to demonstrate a level of understanding of key finance reporting processes, finance systems, technical skills, data, risks, and controls within a Financial Services environment.
You’ll have excellent interpersonal and facilitation skills, to build networks, whilst being able to communicate complex accounting procedures and principles with multiple stakeholders across the business and influencing outcomes.
Through excellent organisational skills, strong task ownership and a diligent approach you’ll be successful within this role.
