Vickerstock are collaborating with one Europe’s biggest and best crushing and screening companies based in the Ballygawley area to assist them with the recruitment of a Production Manager.
The role involves planning, organising, developing, directing, and overseeing the activities of the production team to achieve both short- and long-term goals and objectives.
The successful candidate will work closely with the team in all aspects to ensure the safety, profitability, and overall success of the operation.
This includes, but is not limited to, providing leadership and supervision of team members within a continuous improvement environment, applying lean principles, and maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people.
Your key responsibilities as a Production Manager
* Lead and optimise manufacturing capability and capacity to achieve Build to Schedule (BTS), On-Time Delivery (OTD), and cost targets.
* Oversee the introduction of new products into production, working closely with external sites on upcoming pipeline projects.
* Inspire, develop, and manage a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
* Play a key role in the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process, ensuring alignment on capacity, scheduling, and supply constraints.
* Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity, efficiency, and overall operational performance.
* Set clear objectives and monitor team performance in line with a high-performance framework.
* Take responsibility for equipment maintenance strategies and ensure appropriate training across the team.
* Manage headcount planning, production costs, and operational expenditure to meet budget targets.
* Identify and support capital investment (CAPEX) opportunities to strengthen operational capability.
* Collaborate with the leadership team to improve order fulfilment, quality standards, and shipping performance.
* Act on internal and external quality feedback to drive continuous improvement and maintain high standards.
* Develop and manage production and distribution budgets to support business objectives.
* Lead on recruitment, coaching, and people development, ensuring compliance with HR policies and best practices.
As a Production Manager, ideally you will have
* Educated to a third-level qualification in an engineering or business-related subject and/or a minimum of three years' experience managing a team, preferably in a heavy engineering environment.
* Extensive experience in manufacturing management within a lean, heavy equipment manufacturing environment.
* Experience in planning and coordinating production schedules to meet customer and shipping requirements.
