Job Title Service Transformation Manager

Location: Field Based Role – East of England

Contract type: Permanent

Salary: £64,062 with potential to rise to £75,367 over 3 years

NHS Supply Chain currently has an opportunity for a Service Transformation Manager tojoin our team during an exciting period of transformation, working to make it easier for the NHS to put patients first and to deliver against our strategic objectives.

We are seeking an experienced Service Transformation Manager who will be responsible for partnering expertly with clinical and non-clinical stakeholders in six Integrated Care Systems (Systems) across the East of England,

You will be leading the delivery of best practice clinical change programmes to improve outcomes in population health, enhance productivity and deliver value for money. Deploying a consultative and data-led approach you will lead the commercial engagement to establish unmet clinical need across care pathways, showcasing latest clinical guidance, best practice and recommendations (MedTech Directorate, HINs, NICE, GIRFT, MHRA, Royal Colleges et al) to support the clinical case for change.


Collaborating with customer stakeholders across the NHS, you will positively influence NHS Organisations across the region to adopt innovation and clinical best practice that transform care pathway outcomes for patients. And in doing so enable NHS Supply Chain to achieve its’ ambition to unlock £1Bn of savings by 2030.

Every day you will …

* Communicate the function’s strategy to customers and its relationship to the NHS Supply Chain’s mission, vision and values and the aims and objectives of the NHS.
* Work strategically, you will partner with Systems on care pathways where unmet clinical needs have been established to support the delivery of enhanced patient care outcomes which unlock efficiency gains for the local health economy.
* Work consultatively, you will co-produce care pathway solutions, involving products and services available via the national model, co-ordinating resources to influence a positive change in clinical practice with measurable outcomes and efficiency gains for Systems.
* Collaborate alongside senior functional & directorate stakeholders, establishing key relationships at local and national level to identify and engage Systems with specific care pathway clinical needs.
* Develop and implement a strategic relationship management plan for across the region. Coordinate the engagement of own organisation with the customer organisation to ensure effective two-way flow of information and resolution of issues.
* Shape, influence and lead the development of the Care Pathway Team Service Offering and ways of working to enable opportunities to be delivered at pace and scale.
* Working with Commercial Category Teams to implement value that can be monetised and influence future innovation on category strategies.

What skills will help you thrive in this role?

* The ability to build strong customer relationships and delivers customer-centric patient outcome focussed solutions through consultative influencing.
* A strong understanding of NHS programmes to support the delivery of the NHS 10 Year Plan with established customer relationships.
* Strong financial and commercial acumen within a healthcare setting essential.
* Strong stakeholder management skills within a clinical and non-clinical setting and the ability to influence at a senior level.
* Understands appropriate clinical guidelines and works strategically to leverage when influencing the clinical case for changes
* Makes sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems.
* Develops and delivers multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences
* An adaptive and solutions focussed mind-set.
* Extensive experience working in the NHS/healthcare environment with a strong understanding of NHS patient pathways and commissioning routes. Clinical experience desirable although not essential
