What You Will Be Doing
* Draft legal documentation, including Wills and legal opinions
* Take responsibility for the day‑to‑day running of property‑related matters
* Chase / liaise with clients and other parties, such as estate agents, for key information if necessary
* Liaise with clients and deal with queries, arranging appointments as appropriate
* Undertake and assist with report writing in relation to properties for clients
* Prepare forms and paperwork as necessary
* Maintain direct contact with own clients and those with other lawyers – face‑to‑face meetings, telephone calls, emails, letters
* Use legal knowledge and skills to take instructions and provide reasoned, considered advice tailored to client needs
* Deal with new enquiries from potential clients
* Schedule key dates and reminders on the case‑management system
* Check to‑do list daily and inform fee earners
* Use initiative to progress matters as appropriate
* Organise instructions and maintain an efficient diary system using Outlook or the case‑management system, highlighting milestone dates on each matter
* Take instructions and/or messages from clients
* Other case‑work assistance as requested
* Discuss issues within the team to develop personal and team skills
Knowledge, Skills And Experience Required
* High level of fluency in both spoken and written French and English (essential)
* Experience of French law and English law preferred
* Excellent communication skills, including telephone and face‑to‑face interaction with internal and external clients
* Ability to listen to and explain legal concepts clearly to clients
* Strong organisational and time‑management skills
* Team‑playing abilities
* Excellent attention to detail and methodical approach
* Courteous and efficient telephone manner
* Well‑developed communication and interpersonal skills
* Empathy towards clients
* Flexible approach; able to work with other team members when necessary
