Supervising Social Worker (Full‑time, On‑site) – Herne Bay, Kent
Role Description
This full‑time, on‑site role for a Supervising Social Worker based in Herne Bay oversees and supports foster carers to ensure children receive a safe and nurturing environment. Responsibilities include conducting home visits, preparing reports, managing assessments, providing training and development to carers, and coordinating with local authorities and external partners to secure the best outcomes for children.
Responsibilities
* Conduct home visits to assess foster homes and child welfare.
* Prepare and submit detailed case reports.
* Manage child protection assessments and interventions.
* Deliver training and ongoing development for foster carers.
* Liaise with local authorities and external partners to coordinate care.
Qualifications
* Strong social work skills, including case management, assessment, and experience in fostering or child protection.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship‑building skills with children, foster carers, and professionals.
* Organizational skills, accuracy in report writing, and ability to meet deadlines.
* Familiarity with relevant fostering legislation, standards, and safeguarding practices.
* Ability to work collaboratively with local authorities and external agencies.
* DiPSW, Postgraduate or Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and registration with the relevant regulatory body (Social Work England).
* Proven experience in fostering or working with children and families is highly desirable.
* A valid driver’s licence and access to a car are essential due to travel requirements.
