Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for helping individuals with disabilities, particularly those with autism, and will possess the skills necessary to provide effective support in various settings. This role involves working closely with adults with mental health needs to enhance their quality of life through tailored care and assistance.
Duties
* Provide direct support to individuals with disabilities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
* Ensure the house environment is kept clean daily requirement
* Assist with daily living activities, including personal care if required, meal preparation, and medication support .
* Implement strategies based on Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) to promote positive behaviour and learning outcomes.
* Work collaboratively with families, educators, and other professionals to develop and execute individualised support plans.
* Engage in social and recreational activities to encourage skill development and social interaction.
* Maintain accurate records of progress and any incidents that occur during support sessions.
* Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills related to special education and patient care.
Requirements
* Experience working with adults with mental health issues is essential.
* Knowledge of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) techniques is highly desirable.
* Previous experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum is advantageous.
* A background in special education or related fields is preferred.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary for effective interaction with clients and their families.
* Ability to administer medication safely and accurately as required by care plans.
* A compassionate approach coupled with patience and understanding when dealing with challenging behaviours.
