An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Administration Support Officer to join Powys Public Health Team. We are looking for applicants who can provide a flexible and adaptable approach to support the work of the Healthy Weight and Healthy Schools Teams. We welcome applications from enthusiastic, committed individuals who are dedicated team players with demonstrable skills and experience to enable them to undertake this role.
The post holder will be a core member of the busy administration team with experience of delivering comprehensive, effective, timely and efficient administrative support to a high standard. Working within policies and procedures, the post holder will possess excellent communication and organisational skills, manage their own workload and operate on their own initiative, seeking advice if required.
The post holder will be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and SharePoint).

Responsibilities
The post holder will provide a comprehensive clerical, administrative and secretarial support service. The post holder will need to work on their own initiative and will be responsible for organising meetings for staff within the department and preparing papers as required, liaising with other Health Board staff and external organisations. The post holder also needs to be able to communicate and will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills and have the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information. The post holder will establish strong links with colleagues across the Health Board.

Essential qualifications and knowledge
* NVQ 3 or equivalent qualification or relevant experience
* Experience of using computer-based management information systems
* Experience of using Microsoft Office software
* Experience and an ability to prepare detailed reports
Desirable qualifications and knowledge
* Experience of working in an environment where tact and diplomacy are used
* Knowledge of the structure and operation of the Health Board
Aptitude and abilities (Essential)
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to identify priorities and work to short deadlines

* Ability to design and layout reports, forms and other documents to a high quality

Desirable
