Territory Manager (GI Intervention) - Midlands

The Territory Manager’s purpose in this role is to effectively increase sales volume and revenue through medical device product sales year on year, whilst maintaining strong customer relationships and increasing market share. The primary focus for this territory is to grow our GI Intervention market share.
Key Responsibilities & Competencies
* Achievement of company sales, profit margins, and product targets for their area.
* Comprehensive knowledge of the businesses they work within, product range, technical specifications, prices, features, benefits, clinical applications and sales strategies.
* Presentation of products and services to clinicians, theatre/department managers and nursing staff.
* Education of customers and team members in product features, benefits, handling, new technologies and techniques.
* Making territory plans to achieve sales and promotional targets.
* Maintaining and reporting daily sales activity reports, account records, expenses and other administration.
* Maintaining a business plan to maximise territory sales opportunities.
* Reviewing territory performance with management on a regular basis and writing required monthly reports.
* Scanning for and reporting competitor activity in the territory.
* Promoting and supporting study days, exhibitions and workshops in the territory and throughout the UK as required.
* Continuing to develop necessary skills and product knowledge through ongoing self‑development and company‑sponsored training.
* Communicating regularly with the national sales manager, including planning conference calls and sales meetings.
* Assisting with marketing, research and product launches when necessary.
* Understanding financial operations, purchasing and funding practices of each client group (e.g. NHS).
* Influencing, developing and negotiating with financial representatives to close sales within profit margins and targets.
* Using up‑to‑date product literature and presentations with relevant stakeholders.
* Communicating agreed sales strategies to NHS and private hospital personnel.
* Effectively utilising computer applications, communication tools and internal software systems.
* Overseas travel for international congresses, product training and supplier meetings is essential, often taking place on weekends.
Key Requirements
* Full driver’s licence.
* Skilled negotiator and influencer with excellent interpersonal, networking and influencing skills.
* Professional skills in sales and territory analysis, budget management and presentation.
* Proven experience managing pressure, deadlines and setbacks while maintaining commitment.
* Ability to prioritise objectives and schedule work to utilise time and resources effectively.
* Ability to solicit orders from present and prospective customers for assigned products.
* Cooperative teamwork skills.
* Willingness to travel frequently within the assigned territory.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office.
* Excellent organisational skills and strong personal drive.
* Self‑motivation and ability to convey confidence and credibility.
