Teaching Assistant Grade 3 £25,185 - £25,989 pro rata Full Time, Term Time 2 Weeks Temporary – required as soon as possible until 31st August 2026 The Governors of Tanfield Lea Community Primary School are keen to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work mainly with our SEND pupils particularly within the Early Years Team. This position is a full-time temporary post until 31 August 2026, in the first instance. The post is for someone who can work collaboratively with teaching staff in the whole planning cycle and management/ preparation of resources; to support learning to individuals/small groups to enable access to learning for SEND pupils; and to encourage pupils to become independent learners, to provide support for their welfare and to support the inclusion of pupils in all aspects of school life. Calculation of term time only plus two weeks’ pay Term time only plus two additional weeks’ pay is calculated on the basis of the following: • Number of ‘teaching’ weeks – 38 weeks; plus • Public (bank) holidays – 1.6 weeks (8 days); plus • Two additional weeks, inclusive of CPD – 2 weeks; plus • Individual leave entitlement - 5.4 weeks (27 days) or 6.4 weeks (32 days) Individual leave entitlement is calculated on the length of continuous service. Employees with less than 5 years’ service will receive 27 days annual leave. Employees with more than 5 years’ service will receive 32 days annual leave.
