Reliability and Engineering Process sit at the heart of our team, ensuring our cars perform at their peak while finishing every race. They also drive our engineering capabilities forward identifying opportunities to accelerate car development and deliver updates to the car faster.This is a unique opportunity, offering exposure to the complete F1 car lifecycle from concept to racing whilst involving you in projects across the entire car.Youdirectly involved from day one, working on real engineering challenges and evolving the capabilities and processes that keep our cars competitive.Collaborating with engineers and technicians across Design, Build, R&D, and the Race Team, youtackle real-world problems. Many of your projects will be responses to on-track reliability issues, giving you exposure to a wide range of technical topics and deepening your understanding of F1 car systems.Your work will span:Supporting the Trackside Reliability group, getting hands-on with car partsResolving reliability issues and preventing future failuresDesigning components and assemblies, supporting the Design OfficeExploring new technologies and developing our capabilitiesCreating and developing bespoke digital toolsOptimising engineering and operational processesSuccessful candidates will:Be currently studying for a degree in a STEM field (Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics etc)Have at least one year remaining on your current course or be enrolled on your next course* from the point at which you start your placement with us (Please note that if you will be enrolled on a Masters or PhD course you will need to be able to evidence enrolment to confirm eligibility)Have a good understanding of fundamental engineering principlesPossess strong communication and teamwork skillsHave relentless curiosity and a proactive approach to learningShow determination and resilience when facing challengesHave keen attention to detailPossess an analytical and inquisitive approachRelish challenges and enjoy pushing for continuous improvementAdditional desirable criteria:Knowledge of CAD software such as CATIA\/3DX, NX, AutoCAD, etc.Experience with Microsoft Power Platform such as: Power Automate, PowerApps, Power BI, DataverseExperience in the use of modern programming languages (VBA, python, etc)Previous hands-on engineering experience (not restricted to motorsport)Future careers: previous students who joined us in this role have gone on to F1 careers in roles such as:Trackside ReliabilityMechanical DesignComposite DesignPowertrain Integration DesignDesign Process EngineeringBenefits:When you put the effort in, we give it back.
