Summary:
Swindon Borough Council is seeking a dynamic and resilient Team Manager to join our Assessment and Child Protection (ACP) Team. This is a non-case-holding managerial role situated at the "front door" of Children's Social Care. You will work in a high-energy environment, collaborating with other Team Managers to oversee statutory assessments for new cases referred via MASH (Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub).This role is ideal for a seasoned professional looking to broaden their leadership skillset within a team committed to driving positive change and improving outcomes for children and families across Swindon.
Responsibilities:
* Provide high-quality supervision and management to a team of social workers, ensuring professional development and adherence to statutory standards.
* Lead the team during "Duty Weeks" (occurring one in every six weeks), managing the influx of new referrals from MASH and overseeing immediate safeguarding processes.
* Ensure all statutory assessments are completed within strict legislative deadlines and to a high quality.
* Maintain flexibility to respond to changing needs, urgent safeguarding requests, and short-notice priorities.
Qualifications:
* A degree in Social Work (BA, BSc, DipSW, or equivalent) is essential.
Essentials:
* Proven experience working within MASH or Assessment and Child Protection environments.
* Direct experience in the supervision, training, and management of social work staff.
* Active registration with Social Work England
