Consultant Clinical Oncologist in HPB and upper GI cancer

We are looking to appoint 01 whole time, Substantive Consultant Clinical Oncologist in HPB and Upper GI cancer to Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust based at Weston Park Cancer Centre, with outreach clinics within the SYBND cancer alliance. Main duties of the job
You would be part of an ambitious and friendly team within one of the UK's leading Cancer Centres. We have an impressive track record of leading clinical research and the developments of ne treatments. We are part of a progressive cancer network which is driven to improve outcomes and experience for patients living with cancer across South Yorkshire and North East Derbyshire.
The appointee will, together with Consultant colleagues be responsible for the provision of cancer services across the above mentioned disease sites.
The appointee will join established multidisciplinary teams for these cancers.
The successful candidate will work according to the terms and conditions of the national consultant contract.

The successful candidate must be fully registered with the GMC with a valid licence to practice. For further information please visit the GMC website and click on the Registration and Licensing link. Person Specification
Qualifications
* Full and Specialist registration (with a licence to practise) with the General Medical Council (GMC) within six months of interview
* Name on the specialist register for relevant specialty or eligible within 6 months of the date of the interview
* If an applicant is UK trained, they must also be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview
* MRCP (or equivalent)
* FRCR (or equivalent) - For Clinical Oncologist
* MD or PhD equivalent
Clinical experience
* Extensive training and broad experience in Medical or Clinical Oncology
* Ability to work as an independent practitioner
* Previous experience in the management of UGI and HPB cancers
* Awareness of new developments in the specialty with the ability to assess critically the impact of these on the service.
* AN interest in developing the local SABR service
Research
* Ability to critically assess published research and incorporate it into clinical practice where appropriate
* Publications in Peer reviewed journals
Teaching and training
* Experience of teaching student doctors and doctors in training at all levels
Continuous Professional Development
* Evidence of participation in CME/CPD in the last 12 months of employment
* Maintenance of a CPD diary or portfolio
Management and Administration
* Evidence of the understanding of the systems and structures of NHS Management
Clinical governance and audit
* Experience in performing clinical audit
* Completion and publication of a substantive audit project or service improvement project
Personal attributes
* Demonstrates behaviour consistent with PROUD values (see appendix)
* Good oral and written communication skills
