Position: Cleaner
Location: Kirkby Leisure Centre
Pay: £12.60 per hour
To provide a flexible cleaning provision across a range of buildings within Volair to meet service requirements. To work as part of a team, to provide an effective service to ensure that the required standards are achieved
Duties and responsibilities
This is not a comprehensive list of all the tasks, which may be required of the post holder. It is illustrative of the general nature and level of responsibility of the work to be undertaken.
To carry out scheduled and reactive tasks across any Active Leisure Facility.
* To provide cleaning support, ensuring that all establishments are kept in a clean and hygienic condition, and that daily cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, buffing, cleaning of sanitary-ware and polishing and mopping surfaces are completed on time and to the required standard.
* Dealing with any spillages and removal of bodily fluids in a safe, hygienic and timely manner.
* Carry out periodic litter picking duties internally and externally, brush, sweep and remove debris, using the correct cleaning equipment, and disposal of in the appropriate external waste container.
* Replenish paper towels, soap, toilet paper, bin liners.
* Ensure a high standard of customer care is achieved at all times.
* Some duties may involve working with classified dangerous chemicals and all COSHH regulations and agreed local procedures must be followed.
* A uniform will be supplied and must be worn at all times when on duty, the uniform must be kept clean and worn in good condition.
* There is a requirement for the post-holder to have a flexible attitude towards transferring at short notice to any establishment within a reasonable geographical distance to undertake cleaning
* To undertake any other duties as directed by the Manager which are commensurate with the post and grade and contribute to the general purpose and objectives of the department.
Health and safety
* To use equipment as instructed and trained
* To inform management of any health and safety issues which could place individuals in danger
* Report actual or potential security incidents.
