Overview
The post-holder will be responsible for delivering neonatal psychological services across Coventry and Warwickshire. They will have key relationships with staff in the Neonatal Units across the Local Maternity and Neonatal System (UHCW, George Eliot Hospital and Warwick Hospital), Coventry and Warwickshire Perinatal Mental Health Service, West Midlands Perinatal Operational Delivery Network, and the broader community of practice of Neonatal Psychologists within the West Midlands.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver neonatal psychological services to families under neonatal care in an holistic, evidence‑based way.
* Work collaboratively with families to offer appropriate support, signposting and referral to additional services.
* Provide confidential professional support to staff in relation to the impact of their work in neonatal units.
* Liaise and signpost to appropriate staff/services where needed.
* Consult on patients' psychological care with colleagues, including the Neonatal Counsellor.
* Where required, provide clinical supervision to other psychological professionals.
* Work autonomously within professional guidelines, exercising full clinical responsibility and implementing changes where necessary.
* Utilise research skills for audit, policy development, service development and research.
* Engage in service development work guided by best practice standards and frameworks, supported by an internal clinical supervisor.
* Participate in networking and CPD events within the West Midlands Perinatal Operational Delivery Network.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Qualified psychologist with appropriate registration.
* Ability to deliver confidential professional support and supervision in a neonatal context.
* Successfully provide an immunisation and vaccination report from a UK occupational health provider or GP.
* Strong communication and relational skills to work with multidisciplinary teams and families.
