Obtain accurate vital signs on all patients ranging in age from newborn to geriatric. Obtain and process various lab specimens according to established protocols and procedures. Perform appropriate in-house laboratory testing & functions. Ensure that required patient forms have been filled out by patient prior to seeing Provider. Enter/update patient information in EMR in accordance with established protocols and procedures. Perform basic medical procedures such as dressing changes, venipuncture, spirometry, ear irrigation, EKG, audiometry, cast/suture removal, application of DME, vision screening, Etc. Periodically throughout the day, ensure that exam rooms are clean and stocked appropriately. Prepare rooms for minor surgical procedures and assist physicians as needed during these procedures. Ensure that the eClinicalWorks schedule accurately reflects patient status. Maintain working knowledge of scheduling system and procedures. Document all patient interactions accurately and appropriately. Prepare charts for patient visits according to standing orders, protocols, & provider outlines. Interact professionally with patients, co-workers, and other members of health care team. Clean and sterilize instruments. Other clinical duties as assigned. Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent, certificate in medical assisting preferred, experience in a medical or hospital setting, or relevant experience in medical field. Obtain and maintain current BLS certification. Begin Hepatitis B vaccination series prior to time of hire. Interact in a professional and courteous manner with all patients, co-workers, doctors, clients.
