Are you someone who’s newly qualified or early in your archival career, looking to gain hands-on experience working with business archives?
This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented individual to join our Group Archive team on a short-term project. It would suit someone with a qualification in archives and records management, or someone actively working towards it, and who has experience handling physical records and cataloguing collections. You’ll be joining a friendly, professional team committed to preserving Aviva’s corporate history.
A bit about the job:
We’re looking for a Project Archivist to appraise, list, and catalogue a recently transferred collection of legacy records following our move from St Helens. You’ll work closely with the Group Archivist to make appraisal decisions, document the material for long-term preservation, and help ensure the collection is accessible and well-organised. The role is based in Norwich and is initially offered as a 3-month fixed-term contract, with the potential for extension pending business developments.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
A recognised qualification in archives and records management or working towards one.
Experience working with paper-based archival collections.
Practical knowledge of archival cataloguing and systems.
Attention to detail and good organisational skills.
An interest in corporate or business archives.

Salary – £31,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
