Our client, a well-established and forward-thinking organisation based in Bury St Edmunds, is looking for a Shift Maintenance Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a shift-based role operating on a Panama shift pattern (2 days, 2 nights, 4 off), offering a great opportunity for experienced engineers to work in a highly automated, fast-paced environment. About the Role: Reporting to the Engineering Lead and working within a multi-skilled shift team, you will be responsible for delivering both planned and reactive maintenance across the site. The role involves working on a wide range of process and packaging machinery, as well as supporting site infrastructure and continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Carry out mechanical and electrical maintenance on production machinery and systems Conduct effective fault diagnosis and troubleshooting on both electrical and mechanical equipment Support the installation, modification, and commissioning of equipment and systems Complete planned inspections and proactive maintenance tasks Accurately record all maintenance activities using the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) Requirements: Proven experience in fault-finding, problem solving, and maintenance within a manufacturing environment Experience working in a lean, high-paced environment, preferably FMCG ONC/HNC in Engineering with a recognised apprenticeship Strong understanding of health & safety within industrial or food/feed production settings Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting Skilled in managing priorities in a shift-based environment Benefits: £50,000 - £55,500 Generous pension scheme with up to 10% employer matching contribution 25 days holiday plus all bank holidays Private healthcare scheme Excellent career development and training opportunities
