We are seeking a highly proactive and commercially driven Conference & Events Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of all events within our hotel. This role is responsible for maximising revenue opportunities, delivering exceptional guest experiences, and building strong relationships with corporate and private clients.
The ideal candidate is forward-thinking, hands-on, and thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment, with a strong focus on sales, organisation, and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
Proactively identify and secure new conference, corporate, and social event business.
Respond to enquiries promptly and convert leads into confirmed bookings.
Conduct site visits and client meetings to showcase facilities.
Develop and maintain relationships with local businesses, agencies, and event planners.
Achieve and exceed revenue targets for meetings and events.
Event Planning & Coordination
Plan and oversee all aspects of conferences, meetings, weddings, and events from enquiry to execution.
Prepare detailed function sheets and ensure all departments are fully briefed.
Coordinate with kitchen, front office, housekeeping, and technical teams.
Ensure all client requirements are delivered to the highest standard.
Operational Delivery
Be present during key events to ensure smooth delivery and handle any issues proactively.
Act as the main point of contact for clients before, during, and after events.
Ensure compliance with health & safety and licensing regulations.
Maintain high standards of presentation across all event spaces.
Revenue & Financial Management
Manage pricing strategies to maximise profitability.
Monitor event costs, margins, and budgets.
Upsell additional services such as catering upgrades, AV equipment, and accommodation packages.
Team Leadership
Support and guide the events team (if applicable), including casual staff.
Work closely with operational departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
Foster a positive, collaborative working environment.
Key Skills & Experience
Proven experience in a Conference & Events Manager or similar role within hospitality.
Strong sales ability with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
Excellent organisational and multitasking skills.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and solve problems proactively.
High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Knowledge of event management systems and hotel PMS (preferred).
